"Boy ohh boy has old man winter kept his grip on us here in the Northeast! That has meant some of the BEST ice fishing conditions we have had in years & we haven't been missing out! Ice conditions have varied in many bodies of water as a warm spell in late January halted ice production on many of the valley larger lakes. 20"- 30" of ice on most bodies of water has been common, allowing anglers to travel to varying areas & structure. We have run tip ups catching MANY Pike & Bass as well as picking up a few trophy trout from day to day. Light tackle jigging has found good yellow perch numbers with bluegills & some Crappie rounding out the catch! We have been doing our winter trade show tour, with one more to go in the end of the month. As I write this we also will be beginning our spring Steelhead trips on the Salmon River, so stay tuned for River reports, spring bass fishing & Salmon trolling on Champlain too! We are 90% full for our Hudson River Striper trips, with just a few afternoon dates left so give us a shout! Tight lines!"
